The goal was to move away from the standard look of these Dietz Air Pilot Kerosene Lanterns, and create something that stood out while still maintaining a clean, functional design. We refinished in high-temperature ceramic coatings designed specifically for components that live in extreme heat environments.
As with all of our work, every component was properly disassembled, cleaned, and prepped to ensure optimal adhesion and long-term durability. Special attention was given to maintaining tolerances and function throughout the process—because performance always comes first.
"Resto-Mod" projects where vintage hardware is sandblasted and refinished to prevent rust and add a modern, tactical aesthetic.
Cerakote Coating Description:
Cerakote Elite Titanium is a soft, pewter silver metallic. Cerakote H Series coatings the next level in improved hardness, abrasion resistance and lubricity. Cerakote Hunter Orange is a rich medium orange. Cerakote C Series Ceramic Coatings will perform at temperatures up to 1700°F and set the industry standard in high temperature coatings. Cerakote Troy® Coyote Tan is a light-medium brown with a yellowish hue. Cerakote H Series coatings are durable, corrosion-resistant, and provide unparalleled levels of hardness and adhesion. These coatings are also resistant to most solvents and chemicals.
